Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you use high pressure when washing my house?
"No, high pressure should only be used on roofs or hardstand areas such as driveways and paths. Our cleaning partners use soft broom or soft washing techniques. This involves spraying the cleaning solution on the surfaces, scrubbing with a soft-bristled broom to agitate and displace any mold or stubborn dirt, and then rinsing off."
Do you use bleach or chlorine on my house?
"Usually, a small amount of bleach is added to the soap solution to help remove mould from surfaces. It's important to note that pure bleach is never used for cleaning houses. If you prefer not to have bleach added, please discuss this with your Cleaning Partner on the day, but keep in mind that this may result in an additional cost due to the extra time it will take for the cleaning process."
If you use bleach will it kill my plants?
"Any skilled house washer will understand how to clean without harming plants. Australian Housewashing Cleaning Partners are highly experienced and have many years of house washing experience. Inexperience is the main cause of issues when having your house washed."
Do you need access to power?
No, all equipment used is powered by either diesel or petrol. As long as we have access to a tap, we are good to go!
Will my windows leak during the house wash?
It depends on the type of home you have. Newer houses have rubber seals in the windows to prevent water from seeping in. However, older style homes with casement, louvres, or double-hung windows may leak during the washing process. Experienced house washers will try to minimise this from happening, but every home is different.
If you have an older style home or banks of louvres, it is advised to place old towels on your window sills to prevent water damage. Homes with doors that have large gaps should also have an old towel placed behind them.

Do I need to move my vehicle out of the way?
Remember to move your car to the street so the cleaner can access the driveway during the job. This will also be convenient if you need to go anywhere while the cleaner is at your home.
Are my pets OK to roam the yard during cleaning?
Please ensure that your dog is secured in a separate area while the cleaners are in your home. This will make it easier for the cleaners to work and prevent any accidental release of your pets. Additionally, please move pet bowls, toys, and other items inside if possible. Thank you!
How do I pay the cleaner?
All cleaners will accept cards or cash upon completion of the job and provide you with an invoice/receipt.
What if my power is tripped on the day?
The cleaners will ensure that it is safe for them to start work. If they suspect any potential problems, the cleaner will tape up or cover any power points that appear unsafe. If you are aware of any areas in your home that may be affected by water, please inform your cleaner before the job begins and switch off any outdoor lights or power points. If there are issues with water in a power socket, it will trip your safety switch. In this case, do not call an electrician; simply allow the area to dry out, and the power will come back on. Please communicate with or call your cleaner on the day so they can assist you through this.
Is my roof included with the house wash?
Please note the following:
House washing does not include roof cleaning. A house wash includes, but is not limited to, cleaning the exterior of gutters, fascias, eaves, and wall areas of your property. After the house wash, windows should be scrubbed with soap and left to drip dry. This is not a professional clean, but is done to remove the washing solution. If you require a roof clean, it is best to have it done before the house wash or window clean.

I want to book more than one service, what order should the cleaning be done?
When booking several services the following cleaning order will stop you or your cleaners from having to double back or dirtying areas that have already been cleaned. The order works no matter what service you start with.
1. Roof clean
2. House wash
3. Pressure cleaning (concrete, paving, tiles)
4. Window cleaning
5. Internal cleaning

Can I organise other trades to work on the same day as the cleaning?
Please ensure that an external cleaner is engaged after any work has been completed on your house. Even internal painting can be problematic if the window sills are being painted or if your windows leak. The use of water means that builders with electrical cords, landscapers moving dirt around, or external painting can impede our ability to move around freely and cause angst onsite between trades.
